nSuns 531 LP

Intermediate 5 days/week Weekly LP Powerlifting

nSuns 531 LP is a high-volume, weekly-progressing powerlifting program that runs five days a week. It is built into Ægir Iron and free to load for individual lifters and for athletes on a coach's roster.

What this program is

nSuns 531 LP is a popular intermediate fork of Wendler 5/3/1. It keeps the training max and the AMRAP top set, then adds a lot more work and progresses every week instead of every month. Each day pairs a heavy main lift, the T1, run for nine sets up to a top AMRAP single, with a supporting second lift, the T2, run for eight higher-rep sets off the main lift's training max. The five days pair bench with overhead press, squat with sumo deadlift, press with incline, deadlift with front squat, and a second bench day, with your own assistance work added around them.

T1: 75% x5, 85% x3, 95% x1+, 90% x3, 85% x3, 80% x3, 75% x5, 70% x5, 65% x5 T2: eight higher-rep sets on a supporting lift, off the main lift's training max

How it differs from 5/3/1

Same DNA, very different day. Where Wendler 5/3/1 runs three working sets on one lift and bumps your training max once a month, nSuns runs a nine-set main lift plus an eight-set second lift, five days a week, and raises your training max every week based on how the top AMRAP set went. It is far more demanding, and it is meant for intermediates who recover well and want faster linear progress. If you are newer, start with Wendler 5/3/1 and graduate to nSuns later.

How it works in Ægir Iron

nSuns is all math: nine T1 sets, eight T2 sets, five days a week, every number tied to a training max that moves each week. Ægir Iron ships nSuns 531 LP as a pre-built program you load in a couple of taps. You choose whether your saved number is a true one-rep max, in which case the app takes ninety percent for your training max, or a training max you already track. Set your squat, bench, deadlift, and overhead press maxes on the PR page and the app prices every set for every lift, including the supporting lifts that run off a main lift's max, rounds each to the nearest five pounds, and flags the top set as the AMRAP. Each training week is its own cycle, so when you finish one the app prompts you to advance, using the reps you logged on the top set to size each bump, and the next week reprices itself.

Load nSuns as is, or use it as a starting point and adjust the lifts, assistance, or loading to fit you. Save any version as a reusable template that a coach can assign in a couple of taps.
