Dumbbell Tate Press
A step-by-step form guide from the Ægir Iron exercise library: how to do the lift, what to watch for, and the muscles it trains.
- Equipment
- Dumbbell
HOW TO PERFORM
- Lie on a bench and press two dumbbells to arm's length with the palms facing forward.
- Flare the elbows out to the sides and lower the dumbbells in an arc down toward the chest, keeping the palms facing away.
- Press back to lockout by extending the elbows.
FORM TIPS
- The elbows go out, not in. It is a lockout-strength movement, so it is worked heavy for low reps rather than chased for a stretch.
