Barbell Steinborn Squat
A step-by-step form guide from the Ægir Iron exercise library: how to do the lift, what to watch for, and the muscles it trains.
- Equipment
- Barbell
This is a technical lift, best learned under a coach’s eye before loading heavy.
HOW TO PERFORM
- Stand the loaded bar on one end and tip it so one sleeve rests on the floor beside you.
- Get under the raised end, set it on the shoulder and roll the bar across the back as you drop into a squat to receive it.
- Stand up, squat for reps, then reverse the roll to set it back down on one end.
FORM TIPS
- A feat lift done without a rack, and the loading and unloading are more dangerous than the squat itself. Learn it very light with a lifter who has done it.
