HOW TO PERFORM
- Sit on a stability ball and walk the feet forward until the low back rests on the ball, the feet flat and about shoulder width apart.
- Put the hands lightly behind the head and let the upper back drape back over the ball to stretch the abs.
- Curl the ribcage toward the hips, lifting the shoulders until the abs are fully shortened.
- Lower slowly back over the ball into the stretch.
FORM TIPS
- The ball lets the spine extend past flat at the bottom, which a floor crunch cannot do. Use that stretch on every rep.
- Keep the hips still. If they rise and fall with each rep, the ball is rolling and the legs are helping.
