Sleeper Stretch
A step-by-step guide from the Ægir Iron exercise library: how to do the movement and what to watch for.
- Equipment
- Bodyweight
HOW TO PERFORM
- Lie on one side with the bottom shoulder under you and a pillow under your head.
- Bring the bottom arm straight out in front at shoulder height, then bend the elbow to 90 degrees so the fingers point at the ceiling.
- With the top hand on the bottom wrist, gently press the forearm down toward the floor in front of you.
- Stop at a mild stretch in the back of the shoulder, then breathe and hold.
- Switch sides.
FORM TIPS
- If you feel a pinch at the front of the shoulder, roll your body back a little off the bottom shoulder blade.
- Press gently and hold longer instead of pushing harder. A sharp pain means ease off.
