Dumbbell Single Arm Shrug
A step-by-step form guide from the Ægir Iron exercise library: how to do the lift, what to watch for, and the muscles it trains.
- Equipment
- Dumbbell
HOW TO PERFORM
- Stand tall with a dumbbell at arm's length by one side and the free hand on the hip.
- Shrug that shoulder straight up toward the ear without leaning away from the weight.
- Pause, then lower under control. Finish the set and switch sides.
FORM TIPS
- Brace the trunk so the torso stays upright. Leaning away from the dumbbell turns part of each rep into a side bend.
