Dumbbell Single Arm Overhead Tricep Extension
A step-by-step form guide from the Ægir Iron exercise library: how to do the lift, what to watch for, and the muscles it trains.
- Equipment
- Dumbbell
HOW TO PERFORM
- Stand tall and hold a dumbbell in one hand with the arm straight overhead.
- Keep the upper arm still beside the head with the elbow pointing up.
- Bend the elbow to lower the dumbbell behind the head until you feel the stretch, then extend back up.
- Finish the set on that arm, then switch.
FORM TIPS
- The elbow will want to drift out to the side as the weight comes down. Keep it in so the triceps, not the shoulder, does the work.
