Side Lunge Stretch
A step-by-step guide from the Ægir Iron exercise library: how to do the movement and what to watch for.
- Equipment
- Bodyweight
HOW TO PERFORM
- Stand with the feet set wide and the toes pointing forward.
- Bend one knee and sit the hips back and down over that foot, keeping the other leg straight.
- Keep both feet flat and the chest up until the inner thigh of the straight leg stretches.
- Rest the hands on the bent knee, breathe and hold.
- Push back up to the middle and switch sides.
FORM TIPS
- Sit the hips back as if into a chair, so the bent knee stays over the foot instead of drifting forward.
- Keep the straight leg's heel down. Rolling onto the edge of the foot takes the stretch out of the inner thigh.
