Seated Hamstring Stretch
A step-by-step guide from the Ægir Iron exercise library: how to do the movement and what to watch for.
- Equipment
- Bodyweight
HOW TO PERFORM
- Sit with one leg straight in front and the other tucked in or bent out to the side.
- Sit up tall, then hinge forward from the hip with a long spine, reaching toward the foot.
- Stop where the stretch behind the thigh is strong but comfortable.
- Breathe and hold, then switch sides.
FORM TIPS
- Lead with the chest, not the head: rounding forward stretches the low back instead of the hamstring.
