Ring Y Raise
A step-by-step form guide from the Ægir Iron exercise library: how to do the lift, what to watch for, and the muscles it trains.
- Equipment
- Rings
HOW TO PERFORM
- Set the rings at about chest height, take one in each hand with the palms facing down and walk the feet forward to lean back, arms straight out in front.
- Keep the body in a straight line from heels to head.
- With the arms straight, raise them up and out into a Y over the head, drawing the body up toward the rings.
- Lower under control to the start.
FORM TIPS
- The arms stay straight throughout. Bending them hands the work to the lats and the biceps.
- This is much harder than it looks. Start nearly upright and walk the feet forward only when you can control every rep.
