Ring Tricep Extension
A step-by-step form guide from the Ægir Iron exercise library: how to do the lift, what to watch for, and the muscles it trains.
- Equipment
- Rings
HOW TO PERFORM
- Set the rings at about hip height, take one in each hand and walk the feet back until you lean on straight arms with the body in a straight line.
- Keeping the upper arms still, bend the elbows and lower the head between the rings until the hands are beside the forehead.
- Press the rings away and straighten the elbows to return to the straight-arm lean.
- Keep the rings close together the whole way. Letting them drift apart turns the rep into a fly.
FORM TIPS
- The hips stay in line with the shoulders. Sagging or piking hands the work to the chest and shoulders.
- Walk the feet back or lower the rings to make it harder. Build the rep count with the rings high before taking them lower.
