Ring Push Up
A step-by-step form guide from the Ægir Iron exercise library: how to do the lift, what to watch for, and the muscles it trains.
- Equipment
- Rings
HOW TO PERFORM
- Hang the rings just off the floor and take a push-up position with a ring in each hand, body in a straight line.
- Turn the rings out slightly and keep them in close to the ribs.
- Lower the chest to ring height, controlling the wobble rather than fighting it.
- Press back up and turn the rings out at the top.
FORM TIPS
- For the Bulgarian version, let the rings travel out to the sides as you lower so the arms finish wide, then pull them back together to press.
- The instability is the training effect, so move slower than you would on the floor. Walking the feet in and raising the rings makes it easier.
