Razor Curl
A step-by-step form guide from the Ægir Iron exercise library: how to do the lift, what to watch for, and the muscles it trains.
- Equipment
- Bodyweight
HOW TO PERFORM
- Kneel on a pad with the ankles anchored under a bar or held by a partner.
- Sit the hips back and lean the torso forward so the body folds at the hips, hands ready in front of you.
- Keeping the hips folded, lower the torso toward the floor by letting the knees straighten, resisting with the hamstrings.
- Go as low as you can control, then pull back up by curling the knees and finish by driving the hips forward to kneel tall.
FORM TIPS
- Keeping the hips folded on the way down shortens the lever, which is what makes this easier than a Nordic curl. Open them early and it becomes one.
- Catch yourself with the hands when control runs out, and cut the range before you drop into the floor.
TARGET MUSCLES
