Quadruped Shoulder CARs
A step-by-step guide from the Ægir Iron exercise library: how to do the movement and what to watch for.
- Equipment
- Bodyweight
HOW TO PERFORM
- Set up on all fours, hands under shoulders and knees under hips.
- Shift your weight onto one hand and lift the other arm straight forward, thumb up.
- Draw the largest circle you can with that arm: up past the ear, out to the side and back behind you, turning the palm as the arm passes behind.
- Keep the trunk and hips still so the motion comes only from the shoulder.
- Reverse the circle back to the start, then switch arms.
FORM TIPS
- Go slowly and keep tension through the whole arm. Speed lets momentum carry the arm past the range it controls.
- The point where the trunk wants to twist to keep the circle going is the edge of your range. Stop the circle there.
