Cable Pull Through
A step-by-step form guide from the Ægir Iron exercise library: how to do the lift, what to watch for, and the muscles it trains.
- Equipment
- Cable
HOW TO PERFORM
- Set a rope on a low cable, face away from the stack and pass the rope between your legs.
- Step out until the cable is tight and stand with the feet a little wider than the shoulders.
- Hinge at the hips, letting the rope draw the hands back between the legs and the hips travel behind you, with a flat back and soft knees.
- Drive the hips forward to stand tall and squeeze the glutes at the top.
FORM TIPS
- A hinge, not a squat and not a hip thrust: the knees stay quiet and the hips do the travelling. It is the cheapest way to teach the hinge because the cable pulls you into the position.
