Plank Shoulder Tap
A step-by-step form guide from the Ægir Iron exercise library: how to do the lift, what to watch for, and the muscles it trains.
- Equipment
- Bodyweight
HOW TO PERFORM
- Start in a straight-arm plank, hands under the shoulders and feet a little wider than usual.
- Brace the abs and squeeze the glutes so the body is one line.
- Lift one hand and tap the opposite shoulder, then put it back down.
- Alternate hands. One tap on each side is two reps.
FORM TIPS
- The hips are the whole exercise: the point is that they do NOT rotate or rock when a hand comes off the floor. If they swing, widen your feet or slow down.
- This is anti-rotation work, not a plank you happen to move in. Counted in taps, never held for time.
