Barbell Pin Press
A step-by-step form guide from the Ægir Iron exercise library: how to do the lift, what to watch for, and the muscles it trains.
- Equipment
- Barbell
HOW TO PERFORM
- Set the safety pins in the rack at the height you want the press to start from.
- Lie back and set your position with the bar resting dead on the pins.
- Press from a complete stop, without rocking or bouncing the bar off the pins.
- Lower it back to the pins and let it settle before the next rep.
FORM TIPS
- Every rep starts from a dead stop, so there is no stretch reflex at all. Set the pins at your sticking point to train the exact height you miss at.
