Machine High Row
A step-by-step form guide from the Ægir Iron exercise library: how to do the lift, what to watch for, and the muscles it trains.

HOW TO PERFORM
- Set the seat so the handles are above head height at arm's length, with the thighs snug under the pad.
- Take the handles with the arms straight and reaching up, chest against the pad.
- Pull the handles down and back toward the upper chest, driving the elbows down past the ribs.
- Squeeze the shoulder blades together, then let the arms travel back up to a full stretch under control.
FORM TIPS
- The handles travel in an arc between a pulldown and a row, which spreads the work across the lats and the upper back.
- Most of these machines have independent arms. Pull both together and watch that one side does not finish ahead of the other.
