Lying Leg Raise
A step-by-step form guide from the Ægir Iron exercise library: how to do the lift, what to watch for, and the muscles it trains.
- Equipment
- Bodyweight
HOW TO PERFORM
- Lie flat on your back with the hands under the hips or flat by your sides and the legs straight.
- Press the low back into the floor and raise both legs until they are vertical.
- Lower them slowly, stopping before the heels touch and before the back arches off the floor.
FORM TIPS
- The back leaving the floor is the end of the set, not a rep to fight through. Bend the knees slightly if it lifts early.
- There is no bar to hang from, so the forearms do nothing here, unlike the hanging version.
TARGET MUSCLES
Primary
- Abs
Secondary
- Obliques
