Seated Hamstring Leg Curl
A step-by-step form guide from the Ægir Iron exercise library: how to do the lift, what to watch for, and the muscles it trains.
- Equipment
- Machine
HOW TO PERFORM
- Set up in the machine, lying face down, seated or standing, with the moving pad just above the heels and the knee joint lined up with the machine's pivot.
- Secure the thighs or hips so they stay put, and take the handles.
- Curl the heels toward the glutes as far as the machine allows, pausing at the top.
- Lower slowly under control rather than letting the stack drop.
FORM TIPS
- Seated and lying versions are not interchangeable: seated holds the hip bent, which puts the hamstrings under more stretch, so expect different loads on each.
