Dumbbell Single Arm Leaning Lateral Raise
A step-by-step form guide from the Ægir Iron exercise library: how to do the lift, what to watch for, and the muscles it trains.
- Equipment
- Dumbbell
HOW TO PERFORM
- Hold an upright post or rack with one hand and lean away from it, feet close to its base, with a dumbbell in the other hand.
- With the elbow softly bent, raise the arm out to the side to about shoulder height, leading with the elbow.
- Lower slowly under control, finish the set, then switch sides.
FORM TIPS
- Leaning away makes the bottom of the rep harder than in a standing raise, so the side delt works through more of the range.
TARGET MUSCLES
