Barbell Landmine Squat to Press
A step-by-step form guide from the Ægir Iron exercise library: how to do the lift, what to watch for, and the muscles it trains.
- Equipment
- Barbell
HOW TO PERFORM
- Lift the free end of a landmine bar to your chest and hold it with both hands cupped over the end.
- Stand with the feet about shoulder width, slightly behind the end of the bar, and brace.
- Squat down between the knees, keeping the bar against your chest and the torso upright.
- Drive up out of the squat and carry that drive into pressing the bar up and forward until the arms are straight.
- Lower the bar back to the chest under control and go straight into the next squat.
FORM TIPS
- The bar travels on an arc, up and forward, so let the body lean into it slightly at the top rather than pressing straight overhead.
- Make it one motion. A pause between the squat and the press turns it back into two separate lifts.
