Barbell Landmine Lateral Raise
A step-by-step form guide from the Ægir Iron exercise library: how to do the lift, what to watch for, and the muscles it trains.
- Equipment
- Barbell
HOW TO PERFORM
- Set a bar in a landmine and stand side-on to the far end of it.
- Take the end of the sleeve in the hand nearest the bar and stand tall with that hand in front of the opposite hip, arm straight.
- Raise the arm up and across the body on a diagonal, out to the side, until the hand is about head height.
- Lower back to the opposite hip under control, then finish the side and swap.
FORM TIPS
- Keep the trunk square and still. Rotating the shoulders to throw the bar up takes the work off the side delt.
- The bar travels in an arc, so the load feels lightest near the top. Use the long range from the hip rather than chasing weight.
