Kettlebell Z Press
A step-by-step form guide from the Ægir Iron exercise library: how to do the lift, what to watch for, and the muscles it trains.
- Equipment
- Kettlebell
HOW TO PERFORM
- Sit on the floor with the legs straight out in front and slightly apart, torso tall over the hips.
- Bring a kettlebell to the rack on one side: handle at the collarbone, bell on the back of the forearm, elbow tucked in.
- Brace the trunk and press the bell up until the arm is locked out by the ear.
- Lower it under control back to the rack. Finish the side and swap.
FORM TIPS
- Do not let the torso lean away from the bell to finish the press. Staying upright with nothing behind you is the point of the exercise.
- If you cannot sit tall with the legs straight, sit on a plate rather than rounding the low back.
