Incline Push Up
A step-by-step form guide from the Ægir Iron exercise library: how to do the lift, what to watch for, and the muscles it trains.
- Equipment
- Bodyweight
HOW TO PERFORM
- Put the HANDS on a bench, box or bar above the floor and walk the feet back until the body is a straight line.
- Lower the chest to the surface, keeping the elbows about 45 degrees from the ribs.
- Press back up to a full lockout.
FORM TIPS
- The higher the hands, the easier the rep, so lower the surface as you get stronger.
- Hands elevated is the EASIER direction. Feet elevated is the decline push up, which is the harder one, and the two names are easy to mix up.
TARGET MUSCLES
Primary
- Chest
Secondary
