Hurdle Hop
A step-by-step form guide from the Ægir Iron exercise library: how to do the lift, what to watch for, and the muscles it trains.
- Equipment
- Bodyweight
HOW TO PERFORM
- Set a line of low hurdles a stride apart.
- Hop over each one with both feet together, or on one leg for the harder version.
- Land on the balls of the feet with stiff ankles and rebound straight into the next hurdle.
- Keep the contacts short: the goal is minimum ground time, not maximum height.
FORM TIPS
- Use hurdles you would not mind clipping. Fear of a solid hurdle makes people tuck the knees instead of jumping, which is the opposite of the drill.
TARGET MUSCLES
Primary
- Quads
- Glutes
- Calves
Secondary
- Hamstrings
- Adductors
