High Knees
A step-by-step guide from the Ægir Iron exercise library: how to do the movement and what to watch for.
- Equipment
- Bodyweight
HOW TO PERFORM
- Stand tall with the ribs down and the arms bent at 90 degrees.
- Run on the spot or travelling slowly forward, driving each knee up to at least hip height.
- Stay on the balls of the feet with quick, light ground contacts.
- Keep the torso upright rather than leaning back to get the knees higher.
FORM TIPS
- A warm-up and running drill rather than a conditioning run: it is about knee drive and cadence, so keep the sets short and sharp.
