Hand Release Push Up
A step-by-step form guide from the Ægir Iron exercise library: how to do the lift, what to watch for, and the muscles it trains.
- Equipment
- Bodyweight
HOW TO PERFORM
- Start in a push-up position with the hands about shoulder width and the body in a straight line.
- Lower until the chest and thighs rest on the floor, then lift the hands off the floor for a moment.
- Put the hands back down and press up to a full lockout with the body still in one line.
FORM TIPS
- Every rep starts from a dead stop on the floor, so there is no bounce out of the bottom. Push the whole body up together rather than the chest first.
