Fingertip Push Up
A step-by-step form guide from the Ægir Iron exercise library: how to do the lift, what to watch for, and the muscles it trains.
- Equipment
- Bodyweight
HOW TO PERFORM
- Set up at the top of a push up with the hands a little wider than the shoulders, resting on the pads of all five fingers with the palms off the floor.
- Spread the fingers and keep them slightly bent so each hand forms a firm tent.
- Lower the chest to the floor with the elbows about 45 degrees from the ribs.
- Press back up to straight arms without letting the palms touch down.
FORM TIPS
- Build up to it from the knees or with the hands on a bench. The fingers tire long before the chest does.
- End the set the moment a finger starts to buckle. A finger that collapses under load is easy to sprain.
