Dumbbell Reverse Curl
A step-by-step form guide from the Ægir Iron exercise library: how to do the lift, what to watch for, and the muscles it trains.
- Equipment
- Dumbbell
HOW TO PERFORM
- Stand tall with a dumbbell in each hand, arms straight and palms facing behind you.
- Keep the elbows at your sides and curl the dumbbells up, knuckles leading.
- Keep the wrists straight, in line with the forearms, all the way to the top.
- Lower under control to straight arms.
FORM TIPS
- Expect to use much less than on a normal curl. The overhand grip puts the brachioradialis and forearms in charge, which is the point.
- If the wrists bend back as the dumbbells rise, the weight is too heavy.
TARGET MUSCLES
Primary
- Biceps
- Forearms
