Downward Dog
A step-by-step guide from the Ægir Iron exercise library: how to do the movement and what to watch for.
- Equipment
- Bodyweight
HOW TO PERFORM
- From all fours, tuck the toes and lift the hips up and back into an upside-down V.
- Press the floor away through the hands and reach the hips toward the ceiling, letting the head hang between the arms.
- Push the heels down toward the floor, bending the knees as much as you need to keep the spine long.
- Breathe and hold, or pedal the feet one at a time.
FORM TIPS
- A long back beats straight legs. Bend the knees rather than rounding the spine to get the heels down.
