Dumbbell Chest Supported Lateral Raise
A step-by-step form guide from the Ægir Iron exercise library: how to do the lift, what to watch for, and the muscles it trains.
- Equipment
- Dumbbell
HOW TO PERFORM
- Set a bench to a low incline and lie face down on it with a dumbbell in each hand, arms hanging straight down.
- With the elbows softly bent, raise the arms out to the sides to about shoulder height, leading with the elbows.
- Pause briefly, then lower slowly under control.
FORM TIPS
- The bench stops you swinging the weight up with the body, so go lighter than on a standing lateral raise.
