Cable Overhead Bicep Curl
A step-by-step form guide from the Ægir Iron exercise library: how to do the lift, what to watch for, and the muscles it trains.
- Equipment
- Cable
HOW TO PERFORM
- Set both pulleys of a cable crossover at the top and take a handle in each hand, palms up.
- Stand centred between the stacks with the arms straight out to the sides at shoulder height.
- Curl the handles toward the sides of the head by bending only the elbows, keeping the upper arms level.
- Squeeze at the end, then straighten the arms back out under control.
FORM TIPS
- The upper arms stay where they are, out at shoulder height. Letting them drop or drift forward hands the work to the shoulders.
- Go lighter than on a standing curl. Holding the arms up for the whole set is part of the work.
