Cable Crunch
A step-by-step form guide from the Ægir Iron exercise library: how to do the lift, what to watch for, and the muscles it trains.
- Equipment
- Cable
HOW TO PERFORM
- Set a rope on a high cable and kneel facing the stack, a stride back from it.
- Take the rope alongside the head and hold the hands there for the whole set.
- Crunch down by rounding the spine and bringing the ribs toward the hips, letting the elbows travel toward the thighs.
- Return under control without letting the stack pull you back upright.
FORM TIPS
- The hips stay put. If they fold back toward the heels it becomes a straight-arm pulldown and the abs stop working.
TARGET MUSCLES
Primary
- Abs
Secondary
- Obliques
