Cable Behind The Back Lateral Raise
A step-by-step form guide from the Ægir Iron exercise library: how to do the lift, what to watch for, and the muscles it trains.
- Equipment
- Cable
HOW TO PERFORM
- Set a cuff on a low cable and fasten it around the wrist of the arm farther from the machine.
- Stand side-on to the machine with the cable running behind your back to that wrist, arm at your side.
- With the elbow softly bent, raise the arm out to the side to about shoulder height, leading with the elbow.
- Lower slowly under control, finish the set, then switch sides.
FORM TIPS
- Running the cable behind the body keeps tension on the side delt from the very bottom of the rep, where a dumbbell raise has almost none.
