Cable Bayesian Bicep Curl (Face Away)
A step-by-step form guide from the Ægir Iron exercise library: how to do the lift, what to watch for, and the muscles it trains.
- Equipment
- Cable
HOW TO PERFORM
- Position the Cable: Set a single cable pulley to a low or hip-height position.
- Take Your Stance: Stand facing away from the machine, hold the handle with an underhand grip, and step forward so your arm extends slightly behind your torso.
- Execute the Curl: Keep your elbow fixed or allow it to drift slightly forward naturally as you flex, curling the handle toward your shoulder or armpit.
- Control the Negative: Slowly return your arm back to the fully stretched starting position.
FORM TIPS
- Avoid ego lifting: Using too much weight, which forces you to swing your body instead of isolating the bicep.
- Avoid moving the elbows too much: Letting your upper arm drift wildly rather than pinning it back behind your torso.
- Beware of an inadequate step-out: Standing too close to the stack, which removes the crucial stretch and tension at the bottom of the movement.
