Butt Kicks
A step-by-step guide from the Ægir Iron exercise library: how to do the movement and what to watch for.
- Equipment
- Bodyweight
HOW TO PERFORM
- Stand tall with the ribs down and the arms bent at 90 degrees.
- Jog on the spot, flicking each heel up toward the glute as the foot leaves the floor.
- Keep the thighs pointing down at the floor so the knee bends and the hip stays still.
- Stay on the balls of the feet with quick, light ground contacts, swinging the arms in time with the legs.
FORM TIPS
- Keep the sets short and the cadence high. It is a warm-up and running drill for heel recovery.
- If the heels will not reach the glutes, work at the height you have rather than leaning forward to chase it.
