Body Saw
A step-by-step form guide from the Ægir Iron exercise library: how to do the lift, what to watch for, and the muscles it trains.
- Equipment
- Bodyweight
HOW TO PERFORM
- Set up in a forearm plank with the elbows under the shoulders and the toes on sliders.
- Brace the abs and squeeze the glutes so the body is one straight line from head to heels.
- Push through the forearms to slide the body backward, letting the shoulders move behind the elbows.
- Pull back to the start with the forearms, keeping the hips level.
- Go only as far back as you can hold a flat low back.
FORM TIPS
- The range sets the difficulty. A short saw with a flat back beats a long one with the hips sagging.
- It is a rollout driven from the feet, so count it in reps, not seconds.
