Barbell Side Bend
A step-by-step form guide from the Ægir Iron exercise library: how to do the lift, what to watch for, and the muscles it trains.
- Equipment
- Barbell
HOW TO PERFORM
- Set a light barbell across the upper back as for a squat, with the feet about hip width apart.
- Bend sideways at the waist, lowering one shoulder toward the hip, without leaning forward or back.
- Return to upright and bend to the other side. One bend to each side is one rep.
FORM TIPS
- Keep it light and the range smooth. A bar on the back gives little warning before the spine bends too far.
