Band Overhead Lat Stretch
A step-by-step guide from the Ægir Iron exercise library: how to do the movement and what to watch for.
- Equipment
- Band
HOW TO PERFORM
- Hang a band from a rack overhead and take it in one hand with the palm up.
- Step back until the band is tight and the arm is pulled straight overhead.
- Sink the hips back and down and let the band lengthen the arm and the side of the back.
- Breathe and hold, then switch sides.
FORM TIPS
- Keep the ribs down. Arching the low back to get lower feels like more range but moves the stretch off the lat.
