Band-Only Monster Walk
A step-by-step form guide from the Ægir Iron exercise library: how to do the lift, what to watch for, and the muscles it trains.
- Equipment
- Band
HOW TO PERFORM
- Loop a mini band around the legs just above the knees and stand with the feet wider than hip width.
- Sit into a quarter squat with the chest up and the band tight.
- Step forward and out at a diagonal with one foot, keeping the knee pushed out against the band.
- Step forward and out with the other foot, so the feet stay wide on every step.
- Walk the set's steps forward, then walk backward the same way.
FORM TIPS
- The feet stay wider than the hips throughout. If they track in line with each other, the band has gone slack and the glutes have stopped working.
- Move slowly and hold the same squat depth from the first step to the last.
