Band-Only Good Morning
A step-by-step form guide from the Ægir Iron exercise library: how to do the lift, what to watch for, and the muscles it trains.
- Equipment
- Band
HOW TO PERFORM
- Stand on the middle of the band with the feet hip width apart and loop the other end over the back of the neck and shoulders.
- Hold the band in place at the shoulders, soften the knees and brace.
- Push the hips back and lower the torso with a flat back until the hamstrings stop the hips moving back.
- Drive the hips forward to stand tall against the band.
FORM TIPS
- The band pulls hardest at the top and least at the bottom, so squeeze the finish.
- Keep the knee bend fixed. Bending the knees more on the way down turns the hinge into a squat.
- Control the way down. A band that snaps you forward into the hinge is how the back rounds.
