Band-Only Standing Hip Flexion
A step-by-step form guide from the Ægir Iron exercise library: how to do the lift, what to watch for, and the muscles it trains.
- Equipment
- Band
HOW TO PERFORM
- Loop a light band around one ankle, anchor the other end low behind you, and stand tall facing away from the anchor.
- Hold a rack or wall with one hand for balance and brace the abs.
- Drive the banded knee up in front of you until the thigh is at least level with the hip.
- Lower the foot under control against the band, then finish the set and switch legs.
FORM TIPS
- Keep the torso upright. Leaning back to get the knee higher takes the work off the hip flexors.
- The band pulls hardest at the top, so pause there for a second on every rep.
