Band-Assisted Pull Up
A step-by-step form guide from the Ægir Iron exercise library: how to do the lift, what to watch for, and the muscles it trains.
- Equipment
- Band
HOW TO PERFORM
- Loop the band over the bar and pull one end through itself.
- Put a knee or a foot in the loop and take your grip, hanging at full stretch.
- Pull until the chin clears the bar, then lower all the way down under control.
FORM TIPS
- The band helps MOST at the bottom and gives almost nothing at the top, so the last few inches are still all you. Use the smallest band that lets you finish the set.
- Come down slowly. Being lowered by the band is throwing away half the exercise.
